The check strap and brackets replace the OEM check that comes on a 2011-2018 Jeep JK/JKU. The OEM unit has a tendency to separate, when the tailgate is opened too far. Especially in the case of an oversize tire mounted on to the tailgate. it just isn't designed to take much load before breaking.
Our strap is made with a set of 12 ga welded brackets with a 550 paracord braid for added strength.  Mounts with existing hardware/screws. If you require new screws, please let me know at the time of order.
The strap is made of braided paracord. I have several colors available (see picture with samples). I can also combine any 2 colors, you just have to let me know which color you want in the inner and outer. For example, the red + black sample picture has red as the outer color and black in the inner. Other colors are available, just ask.
Please note if you do not specify a color choice (via contact seller) I will send out a tailgate check with black paracord (it’s the most popular color by far)
