    YOU ARE BIDDING ON RARE EDITION of ANTON RUBINSTEIN'S (1829-1894) BARCAROLLE No. 2, Op 45 (bis) in A Minor for solo piano. Rubinstein has inscribed, dated and signed the work, "Leipzig, Jan or Jun 4, 1856."  (POSSIBLY FIRST EDITION)
    Rubinstein first dated in 1855. He then wrote over the last 5 "6."
    The writing above the signature is probably not that of Rubinstein's; it's somebody else's autograph, a Mr. Whistling or Whittling.
    Publisher: C.A. Spina, Plate 10,798. 6 loose, faded pages with wear to outside edges of music (10-1/4" " x 13-1/2")  with light foxing.
